Self Riotous was written in memory of my first girlfriend, Kira Simonian, with whom I shared a very special, formative time in life. My intention was to evoke her spirit - intense, creative and a little wicked - and for the piece to also serve as a way of mourning her. Kira was murdered by her husband in 2007. Just as she was becoming a rising figure and notable talent in the worlds of painting and mixed media arts. All Bandcamp sales of this track (or 50% of the release) will be donated to futureswithoutviolence.org - an organization committed to helping victims of domestic violence and fostering prevention through education.
